Euthanasia?

Hi dear bloggers!

I've always thought that people have right to decide to live and therefore, to die. I agree with all types of abortion, with suicide, and obviously also with euthanasia.

When I hear this last word, I immediately think of someone on a ventilator bed, suffering much. I can also imagine a sad family, suffering for not being able to help the sick. But I just imagine this situation because I don’t know cases of euthanasia, but I don’t think it necessary to agree or disagree.

Well, I’ve no more religion than myself, so I only can say that I think euthanasia should be legal due to the power of each person on her/his own body, the power to decide to stop the suffering of himself and her/his family. For this reason, I disagree the government have the power to decide for people. I think the government can regulate in many ways to achieve better management and organization of society, but government has limits on individual freedom, provided when this freedom doesn’t violate others' freedom.
See you!

The pizzaland!

Beautiful cities, amazing monuments, tarantella, lasagma… and a lot of pizza! Yes… I would love to travel to Italy. I think Italy is one of the most beautiful countries of Europe, you can breathe history in its streets, buildings filled with great architecture and beautiful and old squares.

Italy is a country in southern Europe, it’s a peninsula, meaning it is surrounded by the sea on all sides apart from one (its north side). Italy is separated from France, Switzerland, and Austria by the Alps, a chain of mountains like Andes here on Chile.

I would like to travel around all over the country with my boyfriend, walking through cities such as Rome, Milan, Tuscany ... know the big wineries, visit museums, learn to speak Italian.

When finished with my studies, I would like to continue studying at a university in Italy, learn the language, maybe I stay at home to work and put my office in a small southern town, next to the green fields and near the Mediterranean.

Films that I (dis)like

Hi bloggers! Well, the last time that I watched a movie was four months ago, so you can suppose that I usually don’t go at the cinema, watch films at home, or rent, buy or download films.

I don’t like a lot watching films, I think that I’ve only seen fifteen films in all my life, because I think that current films are so boring, because they exaggerate the lives and life situations a lot.

But, my boyfriend invited me to watch “Violeta se fue a los cielos”, wich I don’t like too much, but it was interesting for me. It’s a drama and historical film about Violeta Parra, a chilean multifaceted woman: weaver, painter, singer, and more. I like this movie not for the story, but for the acting quality and . I only watched once it. Anyway I recommend it because it's good to know about important people in chilean History.

I’ll never forget when I watched “The lion king” when I was a child. I cried a lot, and since this time I dislike films for children. But, I like to feel fear, so, I like (but not that much) horror movies.

Otherwise, I wouldn’t like that my life was watched for people that I even don’t know, well, but this film I think would be a drama movie hahaha.

See you!

Class in summer :(

Hi classmates and new classmates, how are you? Tired… I think it, and this is natural, because I think that nobody had thought how different this term would be.

My expectations for this strange term are a lot and very differents. On the one hand I think that the quality of the contents will be worse, because this term is very short and I really don´t know how the teachers can do it. But on the other hand, I expect that we as students will able to be autodidact, and to learn like in past times at the University, not tell you everything that you had to do.
I think that the subjects that I’m taking this term are very interesting: Social Psychology II, qualitative methodology, introduction to psychological assessment, cognitive neuroscience, developmental psychology II, psychiatry and English IV. I like all, I would have had them in a regular term.
I feel so sad studiyng in christmas and “new year”, because I’m not sure if I can go to my house, but I don’t want to talk a lot about it.
I only hope that this situation is being helpful and useful for everybody.
Bye classmates, see you!

A different pic [!]

Hi classmates! Today I want to talk about pictures [I think that this topic is very interesting, because it’s a different way for express ourselves and it serves us to know ourselves]
I really like pictures, and above all take pics, but I can’t take it because my cam was spoiled since two years ago, and because I don’t think that have one it’s necessary.
I chose a pic that I like, but this work – to choose- is not so easy, I took a lot thinking in one that I like, and that I would want to share with you.

This picture was taken by Sergio, but we call him “Checho”. In the pic appear Luna, Checho, Emilio and me. I remember that this day my friends were very very artistic hahah and decide to take a different picture, so, they think in a good idea: Luna and me took my mirror and took the pic while Checho and Emilio appear reflected. Obviously, this pic was without flash. It was taken the last year, I think that it was exactly in October in our apartment. I live still with these three guys. I like this picture because I think that it’s very original [I never had thought in something like this], and because when I see it, I feel very good for have new friends here in Santiago and I forget how I miss my friends from Molina and Curicó.
I think that it’s very important to take pictures, because these help us to not forget our memories… but, I think that there are things that if were forgotten is because they are not so important.
That’s all! See you!

My phone and me :)

My favorite gadget is my phone. Yes, I know that it's common to think it, but I really love it! I've had very few phones, all of this with tragic endings (one of them was eaten by a dog, another fell into the river and the last died), but I think my current phone is immortal. I have this model (Nokia 1200) for 2 years and always it has worked very well.

It's simple and cheap, so I'm not afraid to walk with it down the street. I bear my phone in my backpack every day, but I don’t use to call too, but to see time and date, also I use it as an alarm clock,... but what I love about it is his flashlight. I remember that the day of the earthquake all the lights were turned off, and the only thing that helped us to get out was my phone.

My life without my cell phone would be the same, because although it remember me what time and day is, I'm still unpunctual and inattentive, the only thing that’s different is that now I’m illuminated hahaha.

My favorite Superhero

My favorite Superhero
Hi everybody! Today, I’ll talk about my favorite superhero, which is “Goku”. He was – in Dragon Ball- a kid who had a monkey tail which allowed him to become a giant and to have amazing powers.

He belonged to the race of “Saiyajin”. He, with other friends and enemies, were searching the Dragon Balls, which were scattered throughout the world. When they found all balls a dragon (Shen long) appeared and fulfilled a wish.
After, Goku lost his tail, but he used his powers as a member of the race “Saiyajin”. One of the most important things of them is that they could increase a lot their "ki", which was his strength.

Goku must fight many villains (like Freeza, Cell, Babidi, Majin Buu, and Vegeta) who want to attack Earth and destroy the human race, but Goku always saved us.
I like Goku, because he always wanted to save Earth, he was so good, although he wasn’t a human. I really thought he was a superhero… even, I dreamed with him, I loved him! I think that the values he represents are the honesty, humility and perseverance, because there were villains who were hard to win, hahaha.

I admire Piaget

Hi everybody. Today I'll talk you about a person that I admire, and he is Jean Piaget (William Fritz Jean Piaget). He was born on August 9, 1939 in Switzerland and he died on September 16, 1980 in Geneva.

He studied Natural Sciences and then about psychoanalysis and intelligence, working on Genetic Psychology and Epistemology of Science. He recognized that child's thinking differs from adult’s thinking and he supported the idea that children develop in a progressive way  going through different stages, which were:

1) Sensory-motor stage (0-2 years) characterized by an enormous curiosity about the world

2) Pre-operational stage (2-7 years): children are egocentric and they think in world like a magical world

3) Concrete operational stage (7-11 years): characterized by a literal and concrete thinking

4) Formal operational stage (11-15 years): children have ability to understand abstract language

I like Piaget because I think that he was one of the first people to recognize the child as a subject who means things and world of a different way. Today, his ideas have been refuted many times, but I think he is a person who should be recognized for his great contribution, because after all, we all go through childhood.

About me

Well, it's a bit difficult to describe oneself, but I'll try. I'm a student of second year of Psychology... yes, a sophomore. My family lives in Molina and I go once a month to visit them. I live in Santiago in an apartment with my boyfriend and two friends ... my life is really fun!
I like the career I'm studying, but I think it's just one of many careers that I want to study.

I love having interesting conversations with interesting people.

I think this activity will help us to know us more like career mates and to talk about things that maybe never before we have thought.

My favorite movie

My favorite movie is "El secreto de sus ojos" (The secret in their eyes). This movie is set in two periods: the first is in 70's in Argentina, and the second in the first decade of this century. It's a drama story written by Eduardo Sacheri and directed by Juan José Campanella. The protagonists are Ricardo Darín y Soledad Villamil.

This movie is about a man (Espósito) that works in a penal court. In this place he meet a lawyer woman very intelligent (Irene), and he fall in love with her for a long time, but she is indifferent with him. While, Espósito takes charge investigating the case of a newlywed woman who was violated and murdered. It's not a easy work because in the murder place were not evidence. Then, Esposito review old photographs of the girl and note that some of them is a young men looking her. And it is the secret in their eyes, because he always loved her but she never loved him, and for it he killed her, and he should be under life sentence, but it was not.

Thirty years later, Espósito still in love with Irene and he decides to write a novel about the story I told earlier. By the end of the film he discovers that the murderer of the woman was still alive but had been the husband of the woman that did justice, holding the man captive at home for thirty years. Finally, Esposito is reunited with Irene and she seems to want to be him at last.

I like this movie because it is extremely realistic, it shows a shocking story that highlights the paradoxes and difficulties of life, focusing on love and justice as values that remain for many years. I also like to emphasize the quality of the actors and the direction in general, which enable a true work of art in the context of Latin cinema. With nothing else to say ... watch it.
